New Designers!!!

27th - 30th June
New Designers!!

I have recently returned from an exciting week in London where we showcased our work at New Designers, in the Business Design Center.

It was an amazing few days talking to people within the industry and recieving positive feedback, as well as meeting other art and design students and seeing the diverse range of hard work which has been produced within our final year.

Congratulations to everyone exhibiting!!

Below are some photos of our stands!!

Final Pieces

Machine embroidered silk organza dresses which I have used my own dye recipes to achieve my desired colours which have layered together to then machine embroidered into which is then later cut to reveal the different layers of colours and test their transparency in relation to one another.

Collars - Machine embroidery onto my hand dyed silk organza and matching buttons.
The collars are available in a range of colours to suit.

Second Range folded fabrics made from cotton which has been screen printed and folded with hand stitched to hold their unique structures. (Complimentary wall pieces for an interior range alongside).

Wallpaper Samples

Theres something about screen printing which I have really missed while I've been concentrating on my other ranges. So I have made a few quick wall paper samples which reflect and relate to my current range which I'm working on.
I'm really happy with the first few outcomes and I am hoping that this can progess and become an added range on the side with a bit more work.

Colour

Colour is an important part in my design and so I have taken some of my mixed colours
and placed them behind to see how the colour effects the image.
I'm creating my own dye recipes to create the colour schemes which I want to take forward to my
fabrics and then work on top of.
The colour range is mainly inspired from natural form images which I have collected.

Below are some embroidered samples which I have tried to create
in a tonal scheme.
Trying to create structures in my fabrics is still something which I want to push.
